DECCE : The Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education

The Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education is designed to offer ongoing education and skills enhancement to individuals working in the Early Childhood Care and Education sector. This comprehensive program provides a unique learning experience that enables the learner to promote the all-around development of young children, from birth up to 6 years old. It is suitable for anyone working with children in various settings, including creches, preschools, pre-primary classes, nursery schools, Anganwadis, and Balwadis. Additionally, this program is beneficial for those who manage such early childhood care and education centers, parents, and anyone interested in gaining knowledge about young children's development.

The Diploma aims to help the learner achieve the following objectives:

1. Develop an understanding of children's needs and rights, with a focus on the socio-cultural context of childhood.
2. Understand the developmental stages of children from birth to six years old.
3. Plan and organize play activities that foster children's development.
4. Appreciate the health and nutritional requirements of young children and assess the adequacy of their diet.
5. Identify common childhood illnesses, provide care for sick children, and take preventive measures.
6. Engage with the community and provide basic health, nutrition, and early childhood education information.
7. Recognize children with special needs and provide early stimulation and preventive care.
8. Acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for working with young children in crèches, preschools, nursery schools, kindergartens, and day care centers.

           Lateral Entry Bachelor Degree with 1year Working Experience in Nursery / Preprimary
